Pomodoro Timer

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. It uses a timer to break work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks.

Cirillo named the technique after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer he used as a university student — "pomodoro" means tomato in Italian. The goal is to improve focus, reduce distractions, and create a sense of urgency to complete tasks within each time block.

Today, the Pomodoro Technique is widely used by students, professionals, and teams to boost productivity and maintain mental freshness throughout the day.
